BJP Leader Suvendhu Adhikari's Personal Assistant Shot Dead In Kolkata After West Bengal Elections; Videos Surface
Chandranath Rath, aide to BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, was shot dead in Madhyamgram, triggering protests by party supporters. Police have seized a vehicle, recovered bullets, and are scanning CCTV footage to identify the attackers, while political tensions escalated in the area.

Kolkata: DG Siddh Nath Gupta assured that the miscreants will be identified and also that a team has been made to monitor the CCTV footage of Jessore Road in north 24 parganas to identify the miscreants.
“We have seized a car which blocked Suvendu Adhikari’s PA Chandranath Rath’s car. We have also traced a motorbike but the number plate of the bike was tampered. The number plate belongs to Siliguri. We have also recovered a few bullets from the bike. Investigation is going on,” said Gupta.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters in large numbers had gathered outside a private hospital in Madhyamgram in north 24 parganas where Rath was taken for treatment but was declared dead.
The BJP supporters demanded the arrest of Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Rathin Ghosh as he is the local MLA of the area.
According to police sources Rath who was returning home at Barasat was shot at Doharia Madhyamgram.
According to the doctors of the private hospital Rath had two bullet injuries in his heart and one in his stomach.
Rath’s driver also sustained bullet injury and was admitted in a private hospital in Kolkata.
Outgoing Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari along with several BJP MLAs had rushed to the hospital and till the time of reporting all the leaders were inside the hospital.
BJP MLA Kaustav Bagchi said that Rath’s body will not be cremated till the culprits are identified and are punished.
Rath before joining Adhikari used to work in the Indian Air Force.
