Poonch: In a major breakthrough for security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch's Krishna Ghati sector. Seven Pakistani infiltrators were reportedly neutralised by the Indian Army.

Among the seven infiltrators who were killed along the LoC on the intervening night of February 4 and 5, two to three were Pakistani Army personnel, reported India Today citing sources.

However, there is no official confirmation from the Indian Army. As per the India Today report, the Army ambushed Pakistan's Border Action Team (BAT). The terrorists killed by the Indian forces are likely to be the members of the Al-Badr terrorist group.

More details are still awaited.

Notably, BAT is Pakistan’s specialised units to carry out cross-border operations. The development came a day after Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said his country wants to resolve all the issues, including Kashmir, with India.

Last week also, the Army foiled an infiltration bid along the LoC in Poonch and killed two terrorists. Nagrota-headquartered White Knight Corps said that it detected a terrorist movement on the LoC on the night of January 30 night and alert troops engaged the terrorists trying to infiltrate.
