A devastating accident occurred during a festival in Anekal, Bengaluru rural district on Saturda, when a massive 100-foot chariot toppled over, killing one person and injuring severals.
The incident took place around 6 pm on Saturday evening, as confirmed by CK Baba, Superintendent of Police for Bengaluru Rural. Videos capturing the terrifying moment have since circulated widely on social media platforms, showing the enormous structure collapsing amid festival activities.
Initial reports indicate strong winds were responsible for destabilizing the towering chariot, causing it to overturn. "A 100-feet chariot fell during a festival in Anekal in Bengaluru Rural. One person died and the other is undergoing treatment at a hospital," stated SP Baba.
The victim was identified as Lohith, a resident of Hosur in Tamil Nadu. The incident took place in Rayasandra, Parappana Agrahara, during an annual ritual in which devotees were pulling two chariots toward the temple.
