'Apni Biwi Ki Kasam Khao': UP Minister Swatantra Dev Singh Challenges SP MLA To Swear By Wife In Assembly - VIDEO
SP MLA Faheem Irfan from the Bilari constituency in Moradabad district, whilst speaking in the assembly, said, "The MLAs sitting in the house are very distressed about the Jal Jeevan Mission. The situation is such that due to low pressure, it takes half an hour to fill just one bucket of water with difficulty."
On the second day of Uttar Pradesh Assembly's monsoon session, a fiery exchange took place between members of the ruling party and the opposition. A war of words erupted when UP Minister Swatantra Dev Singh asked Samajwadi Party MLA Fahim Irfan to swear by his wife's name.
SP MLA Faheem Irfan from the Bilari constituency in Moradabad district, whilst speaking in the assembly, said, "The MLAs sitting in the house are very distressed about the Jal Jeevan Mission. The situation is such that due to low pressure, it takes half an hour to fill just one bucket of water with difficulty. After the Jal Jeevan Mission was introduced, the hand pump system has been discontinued. The contractors who were given the work first broke up the roads and then built water tanks."
The BJP minister responded, "I want to tell Irfan to swear by his wife and say that water has not reached my village. You swear by your wife and tell us that water is not coming to the village."
Faheem replied, "The minister should not talk about swearing by one's wife. Get an investigation done in one district. They are just talking about swearing by one's wife. I am ready to resign from the assembly."
