Video: Bhumi Pednekkar Walks Through Knee-Deep Water To Support Assam Flood Victims, Distributes Relief Supplies

Actress Bhumi Pednekkar has joined relief efforts in flood-affected areas of Assam, working with the Bharat Disaster Relief Foundation (BDRF) to provide essential aid to affected families. Recently, she shared glimpses of her visit on social media, and showed the challenges still faced by several villages despite flood waters receding in some regions.

Bhumi reposted a video that showed her walking through knee-deep water to reach a home and deliver relief material. The clip was captioned, "When compassion meets action, hope reaches farther. Thank you Bhumi for standing with the people of Assam."

The actress also shared a photo with local villagers and reflected on the ongoing recovery process. She wrote, "Every flooded village reminds us that recovery doesn't begin when the rain stops, but when the help arrives."

In another video, Bhumi was seen travelling by boat to reach a house surrounded by floodwaters. She pointed out that although the water level has reduced in certain areas, many villages are still accessible only by boat.

Additional clips showed her distributing relief supplies, interacting with residents, and spending time with families.

Bhumi's visit comes shortly after she found herself at the centre of online criticism over her remarks on a protest in Delhi. The actor had spoken against the use of abusive language directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a CJP-led protest, with her comments drawing mixed reactions on social media.

In the video, Bhumi had said, "Looking at the videos surfacing now, the kind of language being used, and the way the youth of our country are speaking — the youth of our country... this isn't how we talk, man. We are talking about someone who holds the highest office in the land today. And it’s not just about the office; would we ever speak like this to the elders in our own homes? Can we really resort to using abusive language? Guys, this isn't our culture; it’s wrong, and this really bothered me — that’s why I wanted to come forward and address this."

Before Bhumi, actor Randeep Hooda had also participated in flood relief operations in Assam's Sivasagar district. Working alongside the NGO Global Sikhs, he helped prepare and distribute hot meals, pack survival kits, and provide essential supplies to families affected by the floods.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Bhumi was last seen in the Prime Video series Daldal, which received mixed responses from audiences and critics. Her most recent theatrical release was Mere Husband Ki Biwi, co-starring Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh.
