Dilip Joshi reacts to 'fake news' on life threat: 'Bhala ho uska jisne ye khabar failayi'

Actor Dilip Joshi, best known for playing the role of Jethalal in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has reacted to reports of his life being under threat. For those unversed, it was recently reported that someone called the police saying that the actor's house was surrounded by 25 armed men.

Dilip Joshi, however, dismissed the reports and called the news 'fake'. He said that he was surprised to hear the news which was reported a couple of days back. Dilip Joshi also said that he received calls and messages from a lot of people after the news went viral.

"This news is fake. Aisa kuch nahi hua. I don’t know where it started from and how. This news has been in circulation since two days and I was astonished to hear it. Bhala ho uska jisne ye galat khabar failayi. Mujhe itne logon ke phone aaye mera haal chaal puchne ke liye. So many old friends and extended family called," he told Hindustan Times.

Caller arrested

An unknown caller had claimed that Dilip Joshi is under threat as 25 armed men surrounded his house in Dadar's Shivaji Park area. The call was reportedly made to Nagpur Control Room on February 1.

Mumbai Crime Branch arrested the man who threatened to bomb the houses of billionaire businessman Mukesh Ambani, mega star Amitabh Bachchan, actor Dharmendra, and Dilip Joshi.

The man said during interrogation that he wanted to see how long the police takes to reach him in such a situation.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Dilip Joshi is currently seen in one of the longest-running TV shows, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He has also been a part of films like Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Khiladi 420 and others.
