Tamil Film Producer KP Chowdary Dies By Suicide In Goa

In a shocking turn of events, KP Chowdary aka Sunkara Krishna Prasad Chowdary, popular Tamil film producer passed away on Monday, February 3rd, after reportedly committing suicide in Goa. While the exact reason behind this drastic step remains unknown, according to several reports, he had been facing financial difficulties.

In 2023, he was arrested on June 13 by Cyberabad Police after they recovered 82.75 grams of cocaine from him. He allegedly provided drugs to several prominent film personalities from both Tollywood and Kollywood.

Earlier, police said, "During interrogation, the accused was confronted with photographs and contacts saved in his Google drive. The accused confessed and gave names of persons who used to take cocaine from him for their personal consumption and party with him."

Reportedly, during the investigation, police discovered that KP Chowdary owned a pub in Goa, where he allegedly had invited individuals from Hyderabad. The cops also suspected that he might have been involved in supplying drugs.

Police also revealed that he had set up a club in Goa and would consume drugs there. "He returned to Hyderabad in April 2023. While returning, he procured 100 sachets of cocaine from a Nigerian national in Goa, Petit Ebuzer, who was absconding in an NDPS case. He used 10 sachets and kept the rest to sell to his friends. Based on a tip-off, police from Madhapur apprehended him on Kismathpur Road under the limits of Rajendranagar Police Station while he was trying to sell cocaine. They seized 90 sachets of drugs, Rs 2,05,000 cash, four mobile phones, and a four-wheeler from his possession,” police said.

A case was registered against him under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
