Sonu Sood Reacts To Arrest Warrant Against Him In ₹10 Lakh Fraud Case: 'News Is Highly Sensationalised, Celebs Become Soft Targets'

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood issued a clarification on Friday (February 7) after his name cropped up during the investigation in a Rs 10 lakh fraud case. He stated that the news has been 'highly sensationalised' and that he is not associated with the case in any way.

It was reported that an arrest warrant was issued against the actor in Ludhiana in the fraud case for not adhering to the court's summons. Sonu Sood failed to appear before the court to testify. It may also be noted that his role in the fraud case is yet to be ascertained.

Several media reports have stated that the case has been filed by Ludhiana-based lawyer Rajesh Khanna against one Mohit Shukla, and he claimed that the latter lured him to invest in a fake Rajika coin. It is not known why the actor was summoned in the case.

Reacting to the news reports, Sonu Sood took to his official X (Twitter) account and wrote, "We need to clarify that the news circulating on social media platforms is highly sensationalised. To put matters straight, we were summoned as a witness by the Honourable Court in a matter pertaining to a third party to which we have no association or affiliation."

He added, "Our lawyers have responded and on 10th February 2025 we will give a statement that clarifies our non involvement in the matter. We are neither brand ambassadors nor are we associated in any way. This is just for unnecessary media attention to grab eyeballs. It is sad that celebs become soft targets. We will take strict action in this matter."

The arrest warrant read, "Sonu Sood, has been duly served with summon(s) or warrant(s) but he/she has failed to attend (absconds and keeps out of the way for the purpose of avoiding service of a summon(s) or warrant(s)). You are hereby ordered to arrest and bring the said Sonu Sood before the Court."

Meanwhile, on the work front, Sonu Sood was last seen in Fateh alongside Jacqueline Fernandez. The film marked his debut as a director, and it also featured Naseeruddin Shah and Vijay Raaz.
