Veteran Tollywood actor Costumes Krishna passed away on Sunday in Chennai.
He was reportedly suffering from age-related ailment.
Costumes Krishna got his name as he was a costume designer who later turned to acting.
Several Tollywood personalities mourned the demise of Costumes Krishna and conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family.
About Costumes Krishna
Originally named Madasu Krishna at birth, Costumes Krishna hailed from Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh. He shifted to Madras in 1954 to work as assistant costume designer. Within a short span of time, he established himself and later worked as full-time costume designer in Ramanaidu's studio.
Costumes Krishna designed costumes for some of the most popular actors in Tollywood, including NTR, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Chiranjeevi, Vanishree, Jayasudha, Jayaprada and Sridevi. He made sure to set a new trend every time he designed a costume for a star.
Costumes Krishna in movies
Costumes Krishna decided to venture into acting on the advice of director Kodi Ramakrishna. He marked his acting debut with 'Bharat Bandh' (1991), in which he played the antagonist, and since then, there was no looking back for him.
He went on to act in over 100 films in a career spanning over decades. He played different roles as a character actor in movies like 'Pellam Chebite Vinali', 'Police Lockup', 'Allari Mogudu', 'Villain' and 'Puttintiki Ra Chelli'.
He later also turned to filmmaking and produced 'Aswaddhama' starring superstar Krishna, which was declared to be a blockbuster. Apart from that, he also produced a few other movies including 'Pelli Pandiri' and 'Arundhati'.
