'Parineeti Chopra Ka PM': Netizens Joke As Raghav Chadha Is Removed From AAP Deputy Leader Post

Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra's husband, Raghav Chadha, has been removed as the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) deputy leader in Rajya Sabha. Reports suggest the party wrote a letter appointing MP Ashok Mittal as the new Deputy Leader. Following the news, some people began blaming his wife Parineeti for allegedly "ending his political career."

Reacting to PTI’s report of Raghav being replaced by Ashok, one user tweeted, "Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra have ended his political career. In fact, he has joined BJP wholeheartedly." Another wrote, "To a great extent... His marriage to Parineeti is a big reason. The way BJP has been hounding AAP leaders and sending them to jail on fake cases, Raghav was also a potential candidate. And this would have seriously dented the Chopra Family's Brand."

Several joked online, with one calling Raghav, "Parineeti Chopra ka PM." Another added, "Just the other day, even Parineeti Chopra was calling Raghav Chadha PM material, nothing wrong with dreaming big, but in AAP, the moment the supreme leader sees anyone getting more PR than him, wings get clipped pretty fast."

The joke followed Parineeti sharing a story by Rajiv Datia in which he described Raghav as "Prime Minister material." The post read, "Raghav Chadha is truly one of the finest politicians India has today. He is knowledgeable, articulate, and consistently respectful in his conduct." It concluded, "He would make an exceptional Prime Minister."

After Raghav was removed as Deputy Leader, Parineeti’s cryptic social media post went viral. She re-shared an Instagram story discussing "standing up for oneself." The post read, "Femininity isn't a flowery dress and a tiny little figure and a full face of makeup. Femininity is resilience, courage, power and sisterhood, standing up for oneself."

Parineeti and politician Raghav tied the knot on 24 September 2023 in a traditional ceremony at The Leela Palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan, attended by close family and friends. After nearly two years of marriage, the couple welcomed their first child, a son named Neer, on 19 October 2025.
