Manish Goel recently joined the cast of Anupamaa, starring Rupali Ganguly, where he portrays the intriguing and complex character Raghav. While details about his role remain under wraps, the actor shared a shocking reaction from a lady regarding his entry on the hit television show. He also addressed how some viewers have been confusing him with Anuj Kapadia, a character played by Gaurav Khanna, who quit the show in 2024.
Manish told Zoom, "The audience feedback has been good. There is hatred, too. People are wondering if he is Anuj. A lady has been repeatedly calling and messaging me on Instagram, saying that 'You leave the show, I will break the TV'."

Further, Manish revealed that when he first received a call to play Raghav's character, he initially assumed it would be that of a business tycoon who falls in love with Anupamaa. However, the producer Rajan Shah told him that his character has been imprisoned for 20 years.
"I asked him if it would be an extreme character for a woman-centric daily soap, which has been number 1 for four years? And he said, 'Manish, I am 100% sure it will work'," he concluded.
Earlier, the actor opened up about being compared to Anuj and shared that the show is special because of all the characters and actors who have been a part of it. He also mentioned that Raghav's look was decided by the channel, producer, and creatives, and he is simply following it.
"However, as an actor, my focus is on making each scene impactful. Every character in the show holds sentimental value for the audience," Manish told India Forums.
Manish has earlier been a part of several shows including Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Just Mohabbat, CID, Ghar Ek Mandir, and Mehndi Tere Naam Ki, among others.
