Kumkum Bhagya Leap: Pranali Rathod & Akshay Bindra To Play The Leads; Former's Character Name Revealed

Kumkum Bhagya started in 2014, and Sriti Jha and Shabir Ahluwalia played the lead roles. Later, the show took a leap and Mugdha Chaphekar and Krishna Kaul were seen opposite each other. The show once again took a leap, and Rachi Sharma and Abrar Qazi were roped in. However now, the show is gearing up for its third leap, and according to Gossips TV, Pranali Rathod and Akshay Bindra will be seen as leads.

While the makers have not revealed anything, Gossips TV on X has shared that the name of Pranali's character in the show is Prarthna.

There were reports that for the male lead, the makers are considering actors like Kushal Tandon, Dheeraj Dhoopar, Adhik Mehta, and Paras Kalnawat. However, later Akshay Bindra was roped in. Gossips TV on their X handle posted that Kushal was not roped in for the show because he asked for weekend holidays.

Pranali started her career with the show Jaat Na Poocho Prem Ki, but rose to fame with her performance as Akshara in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. She was paired opposite Harshad Chopra in the show, and fans loved their pairing. She was last seen in Colors TV's Durga – Atoot Prem Kahani, but after four months, the show went off air.

Meanwhile, Akshay has been part of multiple web shows, and even played a supporting role in Kuch Toh Hai: Naagin Ek Naye Rang Mein. But, this will be his first TV show as a lead.

While people loved the jodis of Sriti Jha-Shabir Ahluwalia, Mugdha Chaphekar-Krishna Kaul, and Rachi Sharma-Abrar Qazi, it will be interesting to see what response, Pranali-Akshay's jodi will get.

We are sure Pranali's fans are super excited to watch her in Kumkum Bhagya. Even her performance in Durga – Atoot Prem Kahani was appreciated but due to less TRP, the show went off air in just four months.
