'I'm A Proud Vegetarian': Rupali Ganguly Claps Back At X User Accusing Her Of Eating Chicken & Beef While Advocating For Stray Dogs
Rupali Ganguly, responded to an X user accusing her of eating meat and keeping elite breeds while advocating for stray dogs. "I am a proud vegetarian… I do not have a single elite breed, instead have 4 indies," she wrote, adding, "My child has grown up around stray animals… they understand love and kindness which humans fail to understand. This earth belongs to all."

Television actress Rupali Ganguly, currently seen on the TV show Anupamaa, recently criticised the Supreme Court’s decision to relocate stray dogs to shelters. However, an X (formerly Twitter) user accused her of consuming chicken, beef, mutton, and fish, arguing that her love for animals should apply to all species. The user further claimed she could not advocate for strays while keeping elite breeds at her home.

In response, Rupali clarified that she is a proud vegetarian and revealed that she does not have a single elite breed at home, instead for four Indie dogs. The actress wrote on X, "I feed the homeless animals on a daily basis … every animal I feed has been regularly vaccinated and sterilized…. I support animal shelters and gaushalas … not only in my city but all over India..."

Further, Rupali added, "I am a proud vegetarian… and I support the homeless fur babies …. I do not have a single elite breed at home instead have 4 indies …. My child has been with so called stray animals since he was a baby and even an animal who had not known him before has protected him. They understand love and kindness which humans fail to understand. This earth belongs to all."
What Did SC Say About Stray Dogs?
The Supreme Court on Monday passed a judgement ordering local bodies to transfer all the stray dogs in the Delhi-NCR region to shelter homes. Not just that, but the apex court also mentioned that the authorities must make sure not a single dog escapes the shelter home.
Several celebrities, including John Abraham, Janhvi Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Varun Dhawan, Vijay Varma, and Bhumi Pednekar, among others, have voiced their disapproval of the Supreme Court's recent order.
