Indian megastar Amitabh Bachchan is all set to return to the small screens with the 17th season of his superhit quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, on August 11. As per reports, Big B will earn Rs 5 crore for each episode of the superhit game show. KBC 17 will reportedly replace CID 2 on television.

Indian megastar Amitabh Bachchan is all set to return to the small screens with the 17th season of his superhit quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, soon. And the actor is surely charging a whopping amount for hosting the show, which is now almost synonymous to the living legend.
The news that Kaun Banega Crorepati will return to television was confirmed by Sony Entertainment Television a few days ago, and as per the official announcement, KBC 17 will premiere on August 11, 2025.
According to reports, Big B, who will be returning as the host of the game show, will be a taking home a paycheck of Rs 5 crore for each episode. While there is no official confirmation on the figure, it is a huge amount even by television standards.

A few days ago, the first promo of KBC 17 was shared by the makers online, featuring Bachchan and Sumbul Touqeer Khan. The short clip was enough to send the ardent fans of the game show into a tizzy, and they expressed their excitement on social media.
Reports also claimed that CID 2, starring Shivaji Satam, Dayanand Shetty and Aditya Srivastava, will be going off-air to make way for KBC 17.
KBC premiered 25 years ago on July 3, and it revolutionised the format of reality shows and game shows on Indian television. Big B's iconic 'Namaste' and his trademark style of hosting the show reached every nook and corner of India in its very first year itself, and over the years, it has developed a cult fanbase.
