'Kisi Ke Baap Ka Hindustan Thodi Hai', Says Diljit Dosanjh After Bajrang Dal Protests Against His Dil-Luminati Tour Concert In Indore (VIDEO)

Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh performed in Indore for a crowd of thousands on Sunday and while at it, he sent out a veiled message for his haters. Reciting some lines written by veteran lyricist Rahat Indori, the 'Lover' singer said, "Kisi ke baap ka Hindustan thodi hai."

Diljit's indirect attack came after members of the Bajrang Dal protested against him and his concert in Indore over the "open sale of liquor and meat" at the venue. During the concert, Diljit was seen pausing and reciting the lines from Rahat Indori's famous 'Agar Khilaf Hai Hone Do'.

"Sabhi ka khoon hai iss mitti mein shamil, kisi ke baap ka Hindustan thodi hai!" Diljit roared, sending the crowd into a tizzy.

Ahead of the concert, several Hindu fringe groups, led by the Bajrang Dal, stormed the venue and did a recce to check if alcohol and meat was being sold in open. Two local BJP MLAs, Usha Thakur and Golu Shukla, also backed the protests against the concert.

Earlier, Diljit was in news after the Telangana government banned his songs mentioning alcohol ahead of his Hyderabad concert. The singer had then tweaked the lyrics of the songs and had challenged the government authorities to ban the sale of alcohol in the country in the first place.

"Let's start the Dry Nation Movement," he had later said in Ahmedabad, promising that he would stop singing and writing songs about alcohol if its sale was banned in the country.

Diljit had also mentioned that while the authorities objected to the mere mention of alcohol in his songs, several celebs from the Indian film industry feature in alcohol advertisements but no action is ever taken against them.

Ahead of his concert in Pune too, local leaders protested the sale of liquor at the venue, post which the Maharashtra excise department revoked the permission to serve alcohol during the show.
