Singer-turned-actor Guru Randhawa, one of India’s most popular music artists, has sparked speculation about a brewing conflict with music giant T-Series. In a candid exchange on X, Randhawa hinted at challenges he has been facing for over a year, while reassuring fans that the situation would soon be resolved.
It started after an X user accused T-Series of attempting to restrict Guru from working independently or collaborating with other labels. "@TSeries is trying to block Guru from working independently or with another label! Shame on you @TSeries," the user's post read.
Responding to the tweet, Guru wrote, "Big people face big problems. The issue will get resolved in a few days, and we will come back stronger than ever. This year will be full of music and movies. Just gearing up."
For the first time, he addressed the challenges he has been dealing with behind the scenes, stating, "I hardly speak about all these issues, but yes, it’s time to address and let you all know what's been happening at the backend for the past 1.5 years. Hopefully, it will get resolved, and things will be sorted in a nicer way. Till then, spread love."
Another user shared a screenshot and the text on it read, "The video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by TSeries Music."
T-Series, a dominant player in the Indian music and film industry, is yet to comment on the allegations or Guru's response.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Guru collaborated with international artists and bands in 2024. He teamed up with singer Rick Ross for the track, Rich Life. He also collaborated with artists like Jonita Gandhi and the American electric duo 'The Chainsomokers.' for the song 'Addicted.'
Guru is known for chartbuster songs like 'Lahore', 'Patola', 'High Rated Gabru' and others.
On the film front, he was last seen in the musical love story Shahkot. The film also stared Isha Talwar, Seema Kaushal, and Raj Babbar. It was directed by Rajiv Dhingra and produced by Anirudh Mohta.
The film's story revolved around Guru's character, who moves to Pakistan in quest of a friend, to fall in love with his friend's sister (played by Isha). It released in October 2024.
