Good Bad Ugly Box Office Collection Day 1: Ajith Kumar's Film Beats Sunny Deol's Jaat, Earns ₹28.5 Crore

Superstar Ajith Kumar's Good Bad Ugly hit the big screens on Thursday (April 10) and it received mixed reviews from fans and film critics. Fans left no stone unturned to express their excitement as the film released and packed cinema halls were a proof of fans' craze for the actor and his film. Good Bad Ugly is off to a great start at the box office as it has raked in Rs 28.5 crore on the first day.

The film is being viewed as a major comeback for Ajith Kumar following the disappointing performance of his last release, Vidaamuyarchi, which hit theatres in February this year.

According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 28.5 crore in India on Thursday and it registered an average occupancy of 76 per cent across the day. In Chennai and Coimbatore, the occupancy was over 95 per cent for evening shows.

Good Bad Ugly beats Jaat

Good Bad Ugly managed to beat Ajith Kumar's previous release, Vidaamuyarchi, which collected Rs 26 crore at the domestic box office. It also earned more than Thunivu which had a opening of Rs 24.4 crore.

Besides, Ajith Kumar's film also beat Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda's Jaat which earned Rs 9.5 crore on April 10. Both the films released on the same day. In fact, the production house of both the movies is same - Mythri Movies.

Good Bad Ugly features Ajith and Trisha Krishnan in the lead roles. Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, the film is packed with high-octane, mass-appeal elements and punchy dialogues delivered in true Ajith style.

What has truly captured everyone's attention, however, is Ajith's striking de-aged look. Though the actor is 53 years old, the film shows his younger version - something that has become the talk of the town.
