Plot overview

Dear Hongrang is a historical drama that delves into the mysterious return of a long-lost heir, highlighting the complex emotions, secrets, and suspicions that emerge. Set during the tumultuous Joseon era, the story follows the intriguing tale of Hongrang, the son of a powerful and wealthy merchant family who disappeared at age eight. His disappearance left a deep scar on the family, haunting those who were closest to him. When he returns years later, his sister notices something unusual about him and soon uncovers the startling truth: he is not her brother.

The series features Jung Ga-ram as Mu-jin, Park Byung-eun as Shim Yeol-guk, Kim Jae-wook as Prince Han Pyeong, and Uhm Ji-won as Min Yeon-ui, among others. It is based on Tangeum: Swallowing Gold by Jang Da-hye. Kim Hin-ah has written the series and Kim Hing-sun has helmed it.
