When Mrunal Thakur lost Keanu Reeves-starrer 'The Matrix Resurrection' to Priyanka Chopra Jonas

Actresses Mrunal Thakur, who will be next seen in 'Sita Ramam', is celebrating her 31st birthday on Monday.

Mrunal's journey from television to films has been a long one, and the actress faced numerous roadblocks and rejections throughout, but she managed to emerge victorious every time.

Not many know but Mrunal had once auditioned for a role in the 2021 Hollywood film, 'The Matrix Resurrection'. However, she could not bag the role, and it then went to Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who eventually played it on screen.

Detained from college at 17

Right from an early age, she wanted to be an actress, and hence, actively participated in various modelling assignments. She was also a part of television shows which led her not attending classes in college. And thus, she was detained from her college because of low attendance.

Speaks Khandeshi fluently

Mrunal is a Maharashtrian and her hometown is Dhule in Maharashtra. Though her mother tongue is Marathi, but the actress can also speak fluently in Khandeshi language.

Almost became dentist

Before being a part of the film industry, Mrunal secured quite good marks in her dental exams. However, she decided to choose her passion to be an actor.

Passionate makeup and hair artist

Mrunal's elder sister Lochan Thakur is a hair and makeup artist but even the actress follows the same passion and is obsessed with doing hair and makeup for close friends and family members.
