The shooting for Ranveer Singh-starrer 'Cirkus' has come to an end. Last week, Ranveer took to Instagram and announced the wrap of his film, which is helmed by none other than Rohit Shetty. "Shooting khatam, Promotion ki planning shuru! Mass-ter filmmaker ke Mass-ter plans!!! Buahahahaha@itsrohitshetty @rohitshettypicturez @fukravarun," he wrote.

While the Rohit Shetty directorial is yet to start its promotional campaign with the launch of posters, teasers, and trailers, an overseas critic claimed that he has watched the film’s trailer.

Umaid Sandu took to Twitter and wrote, “Just saw #Cirkus Trailer !!! Typical Rohit Shetty film. Boring & Outdated."

Spokesperson for Rohit Shetty Picturez responded to the tweet stating, “We are the official spokesperson of Rohit Shetty Picturez. The final print of Cirkus trailer is yet to be sent to overseas markets & its impossible to watch the trailer before that. Kindly stop spreading fake news or we will have to complain to cyber crime & take legal action."

'Cirkus' is said to be inspired by William Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors, which revolves around two sets of identical twins who were accidentally separated at birth.

Ranveer plays a double role for the first time in his career with 'Cirkus'.

Over the years, the Shakespearean comedy revolving around two sets of identical twins has been adapted by many Indian filmmakers with Kishore Kumar-led 'Do Dooni Chaar' (1968) and Gulzar's directorial venture 'Angoor' (1982) being the most celebrated ones.

Pooja Hegde, Jaqueline Fernandez, Siddhartha Jadhav, Johny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, and Vrajesh Hirjee are also a part of 'Cirkus', which is set to hit theatres on December 23.
