The makers of Ram Setu on Thursday launched the film's anthem Jai Shree Ram at an event in Mumbai. Actor Akshay Kumar and director Abhishek Sharma were present at the event.

The track is crooned and composed by Vikram Montrose, and penned by Shekhar Astitwa. The song is mixed and mastered by Eric Pillai and is supervised by Azeem Dayani.

Akshay, who was the only one from the cast present at the event, said that the anthem is a Diwali gift to the audience. “The song brings a positive energy. We like to receive gifts during the festival of Diwali. First we open the ribbons, then the wrapper aur bahot khushi hoti hai gift dekh ke. In the same way, we have presented this song to you. This 2.15 minutes long anthem will explain what the movie is all about,” he shared.

Opening up about the journey of making the film, director Abhishek said, “It was during the pandemic that I started working on the script. When I approached Akshay sir, he asked me to send the screenplay. I wrote it and sent it to him and we all liked the idea and decided to take this journey ahead.”

Ram Setu revolves around an atheist archaeologist turned believer, Aryan Kulshrestha (Akshay), who must race against time to prove the true existence of Ram Setu before evil forces destroy the pillar of India’s heritage.

The film also features Satyadev Kancharana, Nushrratt Bharuccha, and Jacqueline Fernandez. It is slated to release on October 25.
