Bollywood's favourite Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja were all over the news on Tuesday morning after reports of them getting divorced after 37 years of marriage went viral. Bollywood's favourite Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja were all over the news on Tuesday morning after reports of them getting divorced after 37 years of marriage went viral. While the couple has not reacted to the rumours yet, the actor's niece, Arti Singh, quashed the chatter and called it 'baseless gossip'.
Arti told News18 that even though she was not in the city, she knows it for a fact that the reports are untrue. "They have built a strong and loving relationship over the years, so how can they get divorced? I don’t know where people get all such rumours from, completely untrue," she stated.
She went on to say, "People should refrain from spreading misinformation about their personal lives. In fact, news about my divorce had also broken out for no reason. Such baseless gossip only creates unnecessary stress."

Govinda's secretary Shashi Sinha too refuted the reports and told ABP that the entire thing was being exaggerated.
"There is no truth to these reports. I always stay with Govinda Ji, and there is nothing like this. Sunita must have given some interviews, and someone must have exaggerated her words, which is why such news is spreading," he said.
Reports had also mentioned that Govinda's growing friendship and closeness with a 30-year-old Marathi actress was the reason behind his divorce with Sunita.
Govinda-Sunita living separately
A few days ago, Sunita had revealed that she does not live with Govinda under the same roof, and that she lives in a bungalow right opposite to his apartment, with their children Tina and Yashvardhan. She also mentioned that it was because of Govinda's hectic work schedule till the late hours of the night.
"Nobody can separate us. I have a lot of fun with him. There are people who want to break homes more than outsiders. I won't let anyone break homes," she had said, adding that though they live separately, their love is still the same.
