Varsha Gaikwad signs off as Maharashtra Education Minister with these two major decisions

Two major decisions have been announced by Congress leader Varsha Gaikwad, as she steps down from her position as Maharashtra School Education Minister, on Thursday.
“ Signed off as School Education Minister, Maharashtra yesterday with these two decisions close to my heart…,” said the tweet by the Dharavi MLA, Gaikwad.
The first announcement is the ‘Happiness Curriculum,’ which will be introduced from the academic year 2022-23 for Std 1 to 8 in all government & aided Marathi medium schools.
In the second decision, Gaikwad has announced a 15 % concession in the qualifying marks for defence personnel & families of martyred soldiers in the Teacher Eligibility Test in Maharashtra. “Protecting the country is the greatest service to the nation. It is our duty to stand by them and their families,” said the tweet by Gaikwad.
In a video released on social media, Gaikwad said that it had been an honour to represent Maharashtra as the Minister of School Education for the previous 2.5 years.
While stepping down from her cabinet position Gaikwad said, "I am glad we could take steps to better a child's school-going experience in the state. All this is thanks to our teachers, parents, students & officials who went above and beyond even during a pandemic."
She also went on to thank the former ruling coalition Maha Vikas Aghadi, Congress, and the people of the state for giving her the opportunity.
