Chandigarh: Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan a video of students running for cover hearing the sound of missiles in the campus of Panjab University, Chandigarh has emerged. The video shows students running as sounds of missile can be heard in the background. Red color beam can be seen in the dark sky. screams of "Run Run" can also heard in the video.
Besides, Keeping in view the safety of students, in an important announcement the Panjab University has announced the postponement of the examinations scheduled for May 9, 10, and 12, 2025. The decision was formally communicated by the Controller of Examinations of the university.
The university has assured students that the revised dates for these postponed exams will be announced soon. Students are advised to stay updated through the official website and other communication channels of Panjab University.
Meanwhile, Authorities in several districts in Punjab and the Union Territory of Chandigarh have ordered complete blackouts starting Thursday night, with authorities citing alerts from the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Indian Army as precautionary measures.
These include Amritsar, Jalandar Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Pathankot, Ferozepur, Fazilka and Chandigarh. A blackout was ordered in Mohali and neighbouring Panchkula, which falls in Haryana as well.
In Gurdaspur, Dalwinderjit Singh, Deputy Commissioner, ordered a blackout from 9 pm to 5 am, effective from Thursday, and to continue until further notice.
