School students lose lives in Kullu bus accident
The family of the victims in the Kullu school bus accident will receive an ex-gratia payment from PMNRF
Himachal Pradesh: In the early hours of Monday in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district, a private bus plunged off a cliff, leaving up to 11 people dead and numerous others hurt.
On the Shensher to Sainj Route, a private bus overturned and landed in a ditch close to Jangla Sainj Newuly Marg. It happened around eight in the morning. According to the state emergency operation centre, the bus was carrying a number of school children.
About 20 people were on the bus, according to an announcement from the HP-State Emergency Operation Center. According to Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, each injured individual will receive an immediate relief payment of Rs. 15,000 and the next of kin of the deceased would receive Rs. 5 lakh. According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), he claimed that the injured people would also receive free medical care.
Condoling the deaths, he tweeted "I received news about the private bus accident in Sainj valley of Kullu. The entire administration is present at the spot and the injured are being taken to the hospital. I pray to God to give peace to the departed souls and strength to bereaved families."
In order to conduct rescue operations, the teams have been stationed at the scene.
