Mumbai: The 35th Annual Convention of the Maharashtra State Education Institutions Federation is set to take place on March 1, at the Raja Shivaji Vidya Sankul of the Indian Education Society in Dadar, Mumbai.
The convention is expected to bring together 500 administrators from educational institutions across the state, making it a significant event for discussions on improving education quality and addressing key challenges in the sector.
On Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar emphasised the vital role of educational institutions in the country’s progress, highlighting their longstanding contribution to shaping generations of knowledgeable and skilled students.
"Educational institutions have been successfully working towards nation-building for many years. Maharashtra has a glorious tradition of dedicated teachers and institutions that have brought education to the common people while fostering progressive and reformist ideas in society," he said.
The event is being organised in collaboration with the Mumbai Education Institutions Association and will serve as a platform to deliberate on the issues faced by educational institutions and teachers.
Discussions will also focus on enhancing students’ skill development, preparing them for competitive examinations at both state and central levels, and equipping them to meet global challenges.
Pawar urged institutions to reflect on ways to strengthen students' resilience in handling both success and failure. "Students are at the heart of the education system. Institutions must consider how to improve their quality, provide them with opportunities for skill development alongside knowledge, and instil values that will help them navigate their future," he said.
A commemorative souvenir is also set to be released at the convention, featuring contributions from dignitaries in honour of the late PM Raut, former president of the Mumbai Education Institutions Association, and his contributions to the education sector.
