BPSC: Bihar civil services exam cancelled after paper gets leaked, probe ordered

Patna: Bihar public service commission ( BPSC) on Sunday evening announced the cancellation of the 67th batch state civil services examination held earlier in the day.

The cancellation of the examination was announced after receiving a report from the three members inquiry committee constituted earlier in the day. The three members inquiry committee to probe the leak of question papers of the preliminary tests for 67th batch of examinations for recruitment of deputy collectors and Deputy SPs submitted its report to the chairman, R K Mahajan.

BPSC has requested the director general of police to get the leakage of papers investigated by the cyber cell of the economic offences wing.

Question papers were available on social media including WhatsApp, Instagram and news channels before the examination began at 12 noon today.

Questions papers containing 150 questions were shown on the local news channels before the commencement of the examination.

Examinees appearing at different centres in Patna and Ara, district headquarters of Bhojpur also complained of question paper sets being leaked out with the connivance of BPSC and coaching centres.

At Kunwar Singh College centre at Ara, 50 km from here, examinees appearing in the two special rooms were seen writing answers, while in other rooms, candidates had to wait for the question papers.

Examinees walked out of the rooms complaining of delay in the distribution of question papers and found the favoured examinees were using mobile sets for writing answers.

They resorted to slogans shouting against the commission and alleged irregularities in the conduct of the examination.

District Magistrate of Bhojpur, Roshan Kushwaha and SP, Vinay Tiwari, rushed to the centre and assured the agitated examinees their complaint would be forwarded to the Commission.

More than 52,000 candidates appeared at today's examination held at over 2500 centres.
