New Delhi: Ravidas Jayanti will be celebrated on 12 February 2025 this year. It is the birth anniversary of saint and poet Ravidas, which is celebrated on the day of Magh Purnima according to the Hindu lunar calendar. On this occasion, a holiday has been announced for schools in Delhi NCR. This announcement has been made by Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena.
All government offices, schools and public institutions under the Delhi government will remain closed on 12 February 2025. However, essential services will continue as before.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena has declared a public holiday on February 12 on the occasion of Guru Ravidas Jayanti. This order will apply to all government offices, autonomous bodies and public sector undertakings in the National Capital Region (NCR).
According to the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council, all schools in the state will also remain closed on February 12.

However, this holiday will not apply to departments related to health, security and other essential services. They will continue their regular services.
According to the official notification issued by the government, earlier a restricted holiday was announced on this day, which has now been changed to a public holiday.
