WhatsApp Rolls Out AI-Generated Chat Wallpapers For Android Users: Here’s How To Use It

WhatsApp is rolling out the ability to generate AI chat wallpapers for Android users.  Users will now be able to create wallpapers by typing simple prompts using Meta AI.  The AI tool will then generate a wallpaper based on the prompt.  This feature will be available in the chat theme settings for users to play with.

WABetaInfo reports that WhatsApp is testing AI Wallpapers in the public beta for Android that is available through the Google Play Beta Program. This new feature allows WhatsApp users to customise their chat theme with AI-generated wallpapers. It is accessible from the chat theme settings, where users can choose to apply an AI-generated wallpaper to all their conversations and channels. Alternatively, they can set a unique wallpaper for specific conversations by opening the chat info screen and selecting the option to create a wallpaper from there.

The wallpaper generation interface shows a selection of suggested AI wallpapers. If the suggested ones are not preferred, a user can enter a custom text prompt to generate new set of wallpaper options. This generation of wallpapers is handled by Meta AI. Users can scroll through these generated wallpapers, pick one they like, or refine the result by modifying the prompt.

AI Wallpapers are a fun way to reflect on someone’s personality or mood. It is ideal for themed chats, such as planning a birthday party or organizing a trip. While a select few have got this new AI wallpaper creation ability, all Android users should get it in the coming weeks. There is no clarity on when iPhone users will get this feature on WhatsApp.
