Sheopur (Madhya Pradesh): A video showing, nearly a hundred commuters on two-wheelers using a railway track to cross a bridge is going viral on social media on Monday.
The video is said to be from Madhya Pradesh’s Sheopur where residents were allegedly forced to use the railway bridge due to the poor condition of nearby roads and lack of any alternative route.
In the video, it can be seen that people are walking on the railway track with their bikes and they are pushing their vehicles instead of riding them.
This could have led to a major accident if a train had arrived during that time. Fortunately, no train passed while the people were on the bridge, and a tragedy was averted.
Residents suffer unavailability of road
According to local residents, they are forced to use the railway track because the road in the area is in a very bad condition. Also, there is no other safe way to cross the river or reach nearby villages.
People have appealed to the administration to either build a new road or repair the old one immediately. Meanwhile, both the local authorities and the railway department have not responded publicly to the incident.
