Third phase of polling in Ashta held peacefully

Voters showed enthusiasm to form village government in Panchayat elections

Ashta (Madhya Pradesh): The third and final phase of the three-tier Panchayat General Election in Ashta tehsil of Sehore district held peacefully on Friday.

Polling was held for Panch, Sarpanch, Janpad members and Zila Panchayat members. There was also great enthusiasm among women, senior citizens and youths to exercise their franchise.Long queues of voters were seen in all the polling stations. Women also reached the polling station in large numbers to cast their votes at the polling place.

In the third phase of Panchayat elections, voters voted at 398 polling stations for the election of 144 gram panchayats of Ashta district. According to preliminary information, 16.83 percent polling was recorded till 09 am in Ashta, 42.38 percent till 11 am, 67.21 percent till 1 pm and 86.51 percent till 3 pm.

Collector and District Election Officer Chandra Mohan Thakur and SP MayankAwasthi visited the polling stations to take stock of the ongoing polling. Along with this, he also discussed with the voters who came to the polling stations.

Narmadapuram: Voters’ enthusiasm seen in last phase of polling

Polling in the third and final phase of Panchayat election in Narmadapuram district passed off peacefully. Voting was held from 7 am to 3 pm with long queues of voters seen at most booths including Narmadapuram, Makhannagar and Bankhedi.

District Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh and SP Gurkaran Singh monitored polling stations to ensure fair and free elections. There was enthusiasm among voters in the Gram Panchayats of Bankhedi, Narmadapuram, and Makhannagar.

In the first two hours of polling till 9 am, 22.41 percent voting was over in Narmadapuram district, 20.75 in Makhannagar and 22.32 percent in Bankhedi. Have taken stock of the arrangements at the centres.
