Street Dog Attacks 5-Year-Old In Gwalior, Tears Off His Cheek Over Biscuit Packet; Child Saved After 1.5 Hour Long Surgery

Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A 5-year-old boy was brutally attacked by a stray dog in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior on Monday. The aggressive canine tore the flesh off his cheek, leaving him crying and bleeding.

The incident happened in the Mehndi Wale Syed area located in Gol Pahadia of Gwalior. Manoj Prajapati's five-year-old son Narsimha had gone to the shop to buy biscuits in the morning. Tempted by the biscuit packet, the dog attacked the child and tore his cheek.

Seeing the child bleeding profusely, the locals informed his family. Panicked, the family members immediately took him to a private super speciality hospital and admitted him to the ICU. Seeing the child's condition, the doctors decided to operate on him. He was saved after a 1.5-hour-long surgery.

Dr. Jitendra Grover, who operated in the private hospital, said that when the child came to the hospital, his face was completely soaked in blood. On cleaning his face, it was found that his wounds were very deep. The dog had torn off the flesh from his face; there was no skin left on some parts. There was also a great risk of infection. A plastic surgeon was referred.

Some part of the face is left as it could not be operated on immediately. Fortunately, the child's eye was saved, the doctor added.
