Shahdol (Madhya Pradesh): A naked body of a railway gangman was found inside his rented room under suspicious conditions in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district, as reported by police on Monday.
According to information, the matter pertains to Shahdol’s Beohari region. The deceased was identified as Virendra Patel.
The matter came to fore after his wife failed to contact him on Sunday and asked his landlord for assistance.
When the landlord knocked on the door, he also received no reply. He then looked through the ventilator, and saw Virendra’s body lying naked inside the room. He immediately informed the police.
At present, police have sent the body for post-mortem and launched an investigation into the matter.

Virendra was a native of Pankhuri in Sidhi district. He was working as a gangman at the Beohari railway station and lived alone in a rented room.
According to Beohari Police Station in-charge Arun Pandey, he was last seen around 3 pm on Saturday. He said that the body was taken into custody and a post-mortem was conducted.

“We have informed the family. After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to them. A case has been registered, and we are investigating. The real cause of death will be clear after the post-mortem report,” Pandey said.
Police have begun collecting statements from neighbors and potential witnesses. They are also looking into the personal life of Virendra Patel to understand the possible reasons behind his suspicious death.
