Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Making history, Neena Charan was formally installed as the first female Bishop of the Bhopal Diocese. The installation service was held on Sunday evening in the historic White Church, Indore.
Bishop Neena Charan was elected with a decisive victory and now assumes her role with widespread support. The solemn installation ceremony was graced by church of India’s deputy moderator bishop Manoj Charan, Gujarat Diocese Bishop Silvanus Christian and Jabalpur Diocese Bishop Ajay James.
Christian faithful across the state addressed the event
Pastors and committee members from all districts under the Bhopal Diocese, representatives from the Amritsar diocese and several institutional heads attended the event in large numbers. The presence of Christian faithful from Indore, Ratlam, Bhopal, Barwani, Jhabua, Beena, Neemuch, and Sagar added to the significance of the occasion.
Key diocesan leaders including vice president pastor Sachin Benedict, secretary pastor Jaywant Katara, treasurer Sharad Board and property manager Edward Maganji were also present.
The spiritual and administrative leadership expressed joy over Bishop Neena’s appointment, calling it a historic step toward inclusive leadership. The event details were shared by diocesan representative Sudhanshu Paul.
