A relative, Pankaj Kumar Goyal, said that Kiran Goyal had been suffering from a long illness and was under treatment in cities like Indore and Bhopal, but her condition did not improve.
He also mentioned that Dilip Goyal had tried to contact him earlier. A day before the incident, Dilip had expressed his wish to eat his favourite meal, dal-tikkar.
Locals suspect that Kiran may have consumed phenyl due to her illness, and distressed by this, Dilip Goyal may have taken the extreme step.
However, police said the exact cause of death will be confirmed only after detailed investigation and post-mortem reports.
