Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Politics over Dhirendra Shastri has intensified before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s trip to Bageshwar Dham. Former minister and Congress’ media committee chairman Mukesh Nayak has called Shastri ‘Uchakkaa’ (a fraud). Shashtri lacks knowledge of Sanatan Dharma, and the way he is reciting the Bhagwat is childish, Nayak said. Shastri has barely any understanding of the Ramcharitmanas or of the Bhagwat, Nayak said.
According to Nayak, Shastri has little knowledge of the Vedic traditions and only gives loud statements about Sanatan Dharma. Nayak has challenged Shastri to have a public debate with him over Sanatan Dharma. Nayak appealed to Shastri to debate with him over the Ramcharitmanas, the Bhagwat, the Gita or any other religious scriptures.
If Shastri can reply to his questions, he will tonsure his head at the stage and take renunciation from politics, Nayak said, adding that else, Baba has to tonsure his head. About the Congress leaders’ visit to the Baba’s Ashram, Nayak said whenever a politician saw a crowd, he thought he had vote bank. The capacity to speak the truth ends, Nayak said, adding that he also criticises those who visit the Baba out of religious fanaticism.
Reacting to Nayak’s statement, BJP spokesperson Narendra Saluja said such a statement was an insult to Sanatan dharma. He should tender an apology for his statement which should be treated as that of the Congress, Saluja said.
