MP: EOW Registers Case Against Dy LoP Hemant Katare, Ex-IAS Officer, Others |
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has registered a case against Deputy Leader of Opposition Hemant Katare, his brother Yogesh Katare, mother Meera Katare, Ruchi Katare, former IAS officer and the then CEO of BAD K Rahi, the then OSD of BDA Manoj Verma and High Speed Motors for irregularities in allotment of land for inter-state bus project.
The case against Katare has heated up political situation in the state. EOW has registered the case after ten years of complaint.
Katare took two plots of land – plot number 28 and 31 – at ISBT in 2004. Afterwards, the firm of Katare wrote to BDA to change the plot and allot him plot number 1.
On receiving the letter, BDA decided to change the plot. In the preliminary inquiry by EOW, it came to light that Katare’s firm Highspeed Motors applied for cancellation of the allotment of plot after it was given to him.
The application was cancelled. Afterwards, another application for change of plot was rejected. When Katare again wrote to BDA to change the plot, his application was accepted, and the plot was changed.

According to a preliminary inquiry by EOW, BDA could not change the plot.
The plot could be used only for setting up a petrol pump. But the officials of BDA changed the utility of land and allowed him to use it for setting up petrol pump as well as for other commercial purposes. The decision was against the rules.
Katare’s firm deposited money for the plot in installments. BDA did not take any interest on installments.
EOW came across an irregularity in this case. There were reports that the family of Katare got the benefits by changing the plot. He also wrote to BDA again and again for changing the utility of the land.
Cases have been registered against all those who were associated with Highspeed Motors.
Katare vows to raise corruption cases against govt strongly
Deputy Leader of Opposition Hemant Katare said EOW had registered cases against him in connection with a 21- year-old issue out of political vendetta. Katare said the government had done so because he always raised the corruption cases.
Now, he will raise the issues more vociferously and take the case to court, Katare said.
