Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A body of an unidentified man was found near a drain in Jabalpur’s Kathonda garbage plant under Madhotal police station limits, as reported by police on Monday.
The incident occurred on April 10, however, the police have been unable to identify the deceased till now.
According to the postmortem report, the man was first brutally thrashed and then strangled to death. A case has been registered on the matter and police are trying to identify the deceased.
According to information, a village watchman, Shyam Manohar Dahayat, found the body lying face-down. There was a white vest, undergarment and bottom wear on the body. A red cloth was tied around its neck.

The watchman then informed the police, who arrived at the scene, conducted a preliminary investigation and sent the body for post-mortem. At first, an accidental death report (ADR) was filed, and an investigation was initiated.
However, the post-mortem report revealed the man was murdered. Based on these findings, police registered a case of murder against unknown persons and shifted the investigation into a new direction.
The identity of the victim remains unknown, making it difficult for the police to trace his family.
Police officials stated that they are working actively to identify and arrest the accused.
