Maha Kumbh-Bound Devotees Stranded At Rewa’s Chakghat
Food, water, lodging arrangements being made for pilgrims heading to Prayagraj

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Thousands of vehicles carrying devotees to Maha Kumbh remained stuck on the border between Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday due to a huge crowd in Prayagraj, officials said.
Vehicles moving from Rewa to Prayagraj (NH -27) have been stopped at Chakghat, the border area between Prayagraj and Rewa. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said in view of the soaring number of pilgrims arriving in Prayagraj on Mauni Amavasya, thousands of vehicles of devotees have been halted at the border of Chakghat in Rewa.
District administration has made all food and accommodation arrangements for the devotees stranded in Rewa district, said Yadav in a post on X. Security personnel have been deployed to make arrangements for the people stuck on the road. Chakghat is located 50 km from Prayagraj.
The administrative and police officials are present at the border and looking into the arrangements like food, drinking water , lodging and other requirements being made for the pilgrims. A team of doctors has also been made available on the spot for health-related needs Yadav appealed to the devotees to maintain patience and follow the administration's guidelines.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Rewa zone, Saket Prakash Pandey, said almost 18% of the total devotees reaching Prayagraj were passing from Chakghat and Hanumana in Rewa and Chitrakoot in Satna district. "We are in contact with the UP government and continuously monitoring the situation. All the arrangements are being made," he said.
Police personnel from Satna have also been called to handle the situation. Rewa district collector Pratibha Pal said three holding areas have been created at Chakghat in the district and all the arrangements have been made. With inputs from agencies
