Narmadapuram (Madhya Pradesh): The Bhopal Division of West Central Railway organized a crucial meeting at Itarsi Junction on Tuesday in a focused effort to improve catering services and reduce passenger complaints. The meeting, held at the station manager’s office, was led by Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM) Pankaj Kumar Dubey under the guidance of Senior DCM Saurabh Kataria.
Around 30 catering licensees and their representatives attended the session, which aimed to address concerns raised through social media and direct passenger feedback.
During the meeting, DCM Dubey emphasized that all vendors must strictly follow contractual guidelines. He reiterated that passenger satisfaction is the highest priority for the railway administration and warned that any negligence or overcharging would result in strict punitive action.
He directed vendors to operate only from designated stalls, maintain full hygiene, and wear proper uniforms with valid ID cards. Selling open or unpackaged food and placing food items directly on the platform were strictly prohibited. Dubey also stressed the importance of treating passengers with respect and ensuring all items are sold at officially approved rates.
Railway officials including Divisional Commercial Inspector Utkarsh Agarwal, Station Manager (Commercial) Rajiv Gauhar, Chief Catering Inspector Hemraj Meena, Station Manager (Operations) Sudhendu Rai, and Chief Ticket Inspector Praveen Purohit were present during the meeting.
The Railway Administration appealed for full cooperation from all licensees and urged them to deliver disciplined and quality service to passengers.
