Disciplinary committee head Maharaj Singh Patel had given Dixit three days to respond to the notice, but he failed to do so. As a result, the committee recommended his removal from the party.
Congress city district president Devendra Sharma confirmed the expulsion. He said, “He was warned and given a chance to explain, but he didn’t respond. So we had no choice but to expel him.”
Sharma also said that Dixit had been in contact with the BJP for some time and had even appeared on their stage during events. “Despite that, the party did not act immediately. But now, as he has openly questioned Congress ideology, strict action was taken,” he added.
Sources say that Krishna Rao Dixit has been close to Jyotiraditya Scindia ever since Scindia left Congress and joined BJP. It is expected that Dixit will soon join the BJP officially in the presence of Scindia or Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav.
