Madhya Pradesh April 3, 2026, Weather Update: Storms, Rain & Hail Hit 42 Districts Across State; Strong Winds Expected For Next Four Days
A strong weather system has become active in Madhya Pradesh, bringing rain, hail and strong winds to several districts. The weather centre in Bhopal issued alerts for 42 districts, with orange alert in nine areas. A woman died due to lightning in Mauganj. Stormy conditions may continue until April 6, while temperatures may rise later this month.

Weather Forecast
Another western disturbance is expected to become active from April 7 and may affect the state until April 10. After that, the weather system will weaken and temperatures are likely to rise.
By the last week of April, maximum temperatures in cities like Gwalior, Dhar, Khargone and Barwani may reach 44–45°C. Data from the past 10 years shows that cities like Bhopal and Indore have recorded temperatures up to 43°C in April, while Jabalpur has reached 44°C and Gwalior has crossed 45°C.
The weather centre in Bhopal has issued an alert for thunderstorms, rain and hail in 42 districts on Friday. Orange alert has been issued for Alirajpur, Dhar, Barwani, Khargone, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara and Seoni.

Earlier on Thursday, more than 15 districts reported rain and strong winds. In Sehore, a set of the web series Panchayat was blown away by strong winds. In Mauganj, a woman died after being struck by lightning.
Warnings of strong winds and rain have also been issued for cities including Indore, Ujjain and Jabalpur. The weather department said strong winds may blow at speeds of 50–60 km per hour in some districts, while others may see winds of 30–40 km per hour.

On Thursday evening, strong winds hit Bhopal, causing power cuts in many areas such as Kolar, Raisen Road and Hoshangabad Road. Light rain continued during the night and early morning.
The weather department said a cyclonic circulation and two trough systems are active over the state, causing rain, hail and storms. These conditions may continue for the next four days.
