Land Encroachment: MP High Court Prohibits Mauganj MLA’s Visit To Disputed Site
The court has asked MLA not to carry out any activity on the spot till further orders.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The principal bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court in Jabalpur issued order prohibiting BJP MLA Pradeep Patel from Mauganj constituency from visiting the site of alleged encroachment on the land of Mahadevan temple in Deora village in Mauganj district.
The court has asked MLA not to carry out any activity on the spot till further orders. The High Court has issued notices to MLA, principal secretary, state home department, Rewa IG, Mauganj collector, SP, SDM, tehsildar and police station incharge. The court has asked them to respond in two weeks.

Last week, a violent incident took place over encroachment at Deora Mahadevan temple in Khatkhari outpost area of Mauganj. The dispute pertained to 9-acre land. The MLA and his aides claimed that a colony was laid on government land, which was an encroachment. Litigant Narendra Bahadur Singh has filed a petition in High Court regarding the issue.
In the petition, he has demanded action against BJP MLA Patel holding him responsible for Mauganj violence. There is a demand to provide security to people living on the disputed land. While hearing this case, the High Court ordered MLA to maintain peace and not to visit spot till the hearing is over.
