Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva Appointed As The Chief Justice Of MP High Court |
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva has been appointed as the new Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The Central Government issued the official information on Monday. He had been serving as the Acting Chief Justice since 24 May 2025 because of the retirement of Chief Justice Suresh Kumar Kait.
Justice Sachdeva has experience in this role as he served as Acting Chief Justice from 9 July 2024 to 24 September 2024 too. He was transferred from the Delhi High Court to the MP High Court on 30 May 2024.
Also, Justice Vivek Kumar Singh has been transferred from the Madras High Court to MP High Court. With his appointment the total number of judges in the High Court has upgraded to 34.MP High Court has a total strength of 53 judges. Despite latest appointments there is still shortage of 19 judges.

According to official sources, the Governor of MP will administer the oath of office to Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva in Bhopal. The date for the ceremony is yet to be finalized. Justice Sachdeva will administer the oath to Justice Vivek Kumar Singh at the principal bench in Jabalpur.
These appointments are expected to strengthen judicial operations in the state.
