Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Jabalpur Collector Deepak Saxena has announced holidays for all schools in the district on July 7 and 8 amid continuous heavy rainfall and the forecast of more intense downpours in the next 48 hours.
As per the official order, the holiday applies to all government, non-government, recognised, CBSE, ICSE, and Navodaya schools operating in the district. The decision has been taken to ensure the safety of students and staff during the ongoing weather conditions.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have advised people to stay alert and avoid unnecessary travel during this period.
Nine gates of Bargi Dam opened
Authorities stated that the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students.
Due to continuous heavy rain, nine gates of the Bargi Dam have been opened, making the officials to issue alerts in low-lying areas that are at risk of flooding. Residents have been advised to remain cautious and avoid going into waterlogged zones.
