Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A woman has accused her live-in-partner of raping her on promise of marriage. The victim and the accused were living together for two years during which the accused exploited her sexually multiple times.
Taking prompt action, Bag Sewania police registered a case and arrested the accused on Monday.
Bag Sewania police station house officer Amit Soni said 25-year-old victim worked in a mall. Accused Lokesh Singh works in a private firm. The duo belongs to the same village in Betul district and was having a love affair. They started living together after Lokesh promised the woman of marriage.
However, he refused to marry her when the girl started pressuring her. She approached police when Lokesh severed all contacts with her and even stopped taking her calls. Lokesh has been arrested and is being questioned in this connection, TI added.

Ratibadh police on Monday busted a gang of burglars and arrested two of its members who committed two thefts at different colonies in last 12 days. Stolen goods and valuables were seized from their possession. Efforts are underway to trace and arrest the third member of the gang, police official said.
Following a raid on Monday, police team arrested Rohit Marawi and Anil Rawat of Ayodhya Nagar phase-5. The duo confessed committing thefts with their third partner Vishal Chauhan aka Choti. The accused to conduct reconnaissance of colonies and target locked homes during daytime.
Additional commissioner of police Chandrashekhar Pandey said burglars had decamped with laptops, LED TV, cash and valuables from the locked house at Sikandarabad Colony on March 3. Another theft was committed at a house in Brahmapuri Colony on April 4.
Police teams were formed to identify the burglars. After scanning footages of around 800 cameras at Ratibadh, TT Nagar, Arera Hills, Jehangirabad, Bajaria, Govindpura, Ashoka Garden and other areas, police established that the same gang committed the thefts at both places.
