Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Khajuri Sadak police, during a night patrol on Sunday, seized 306 litres of illicit liquor and arrested three persons , police said here on Monday.
The operation conducted jointly with state excise department in a major crackdown on liquor smuggling led to recovery of 34 cartons of country-made liquor worth Rs 1.67 lakh and a white SUV vehicle valued at Rs 6 lakh taking the total seizure to Rs 7.67 lakh.

The police intercepted the car near Phanda Toll based on specific intelligence. Those arrested are Manoj Namdev (35), Rohit Malviya (28), and Anuj Shrivas (20), all residents of Chhola.
About 26 cartons of desi masala liquor and eight cartons of desi plain liquor were found inside the vehicle, all without valid transport licences.
The accused confessed they were taking the liquor from Dewas for sale in Bhopal. A case has been registered against them under Excise Act.
