Bhopal News: 7 Years Rigorous Imprisonment To Ex-bank Manager, One More In Bank Fraud Case
The CBI court in Bhopal sentenced ex-Misrod branch manager Piyush Chaturvedi and private individual Mohan Singh Solanki to seven years’ rigorous imprisonment and a total fine of Rs 60,000 in a 2016 bank fraud case. The duo fraudulently sanctioned a Rs 27 lakh loan, diverting it to a company owned by Solanki’s wife, causing wrongful loss to the bank.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The CBI court, Bhopal, convicted and sentenced two accused, Piyush Chaturvedi, the then senior branch manager of Misrod branch, Bhopal, and Mohan Singh Solanki, a private person, to rigorous imprisonment for seven years along with a total fine of Rs 60,000 in a bank fraud case, officials said on Thursday.
The CBI registered the case on Jan 25, 2016, based on a written complaint filed by the then deputy zonal manager.
It was alleged that Chaturvedi, the then senior branch manager, fraudulently and dishonestly sanctioned a term loan of Rs 27 lakh in the name of M/s Vision Computer.
After sanctioning the loan, Chaturvedi, in conspiracy with co-accused Solanki, transferred the loan amount to the account of M/s Ajab Kumar Industries, proprietor Krishna Bai Solanki, wife of Mohan Singh Solanki.

Thereafter, both the accused misappropriated the amount, causing wrongful loss to the bank and corresponding wrongful gain to themselves.
After completion of the investigation, the CBI filed a chargesheet against the accused. The court, after trial, convicted and sentenced them accordingly.
