Bhopal: ₹1.62 Crore Compensation To Family Of Deceased Engineer

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): District and Sessions Court, Bhopal awarded Rs 1.62 crore compensation to the family of an engineer who died in a road accident in 2022. 

Principal district judge Manoj Kumar Srivastava passed the order instructing truck owner, truck driver and Insurance Company to pay a compensation of Rs 1.62 crore with six per cent interest from the date of application to the date of payment to the wife, son, daughter and parents of the accident victim Sanjeev Kant Bhagat.

Advocate RK Hingorani and Sunny Hingorani who appeared for the late engineer’s family said that Sanjeev Kant Bhagat, 48, an engineer by profession resided in Karond Kalan Bhopal.

Bhagat was heading to Multai in a car with his friends on  December 23, 2022 when around midnight, a truck moving ahead of their car on the highway suddenly stopped without giving any warning or indicator near Khema Dhaba.

Bhagat’s car which was behind the truck rammed into it, leaving him dead on the spot. The police had registered a case on the eyewitness account of the other occupants of the car and presented challan in the court.
