Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Pole vault athlete Dev Meena from Madhya Pradesh State Athletics Academy clinched a gold medal in the 28th National Federation Senior Athletics Championship 2025 on Tuesday.
Breaking his own national record of 5.35m, Dev jumped 5.35m to set a new record. The tournament is being organised in Kochi from April 21 to 24. M Gwatham, Tamil Nadu won silver medal in pole vault event by jumping 5.15 m.Reagan G. Tamil Nadu won bronze medal in pole vault event by jumping 5.10 m
Sports award ceremony postponed
Shikhar Khel Alankaran and award ceremony to felicitate medal winning players of National Games Uttarakhand has been postponed due to the demise of Pope Francis. The felicitation ceremony was scheduled to be organised at Ravindra Bhawan in the city on Wednesday.
The Government of India has declared three days of national mourning following the demise of Pope Francis. A total of 26 players and coaches have been selected for Vikram, Eklavya and Vishwamitra awards. Ratanlal Verma has been selected for the LifeTime Achievement Award.
